A Rainmeter skin I ended up with after I kept modding another skin (sorry, I don't remember what it was but I'm pretty sure it was a simple clock).

After you install it, make sure you go to the eTech folder in your Rainmeter skins folder and install the font.

Inspired by Arcs by ~Kaelri.

I'd greatly appreciate any suggestions, bug reports, comments, etc.

Hope you like it.

This is amazing, any chance you could add GPU monitoring to it?

Sorry, I probably won't be updating it anytime soon, plus I'm not too familiar with GPU-related stuff on Rainmeter. I imagine it would be easy to just replace one of the meters with a GPU meter that you've been using though.

Hi esnooze. I'm trying to displace all of the elements (minus the outer and inner circles because I took them off). For example, I'm extending the length of the [time&length] lines and re coordinating the strings so they extend away from the center. The problem is that as I do so, the elements get cut off and I won't be able to see them. Is there a way to edit or change the effective size of the skin? I tried looking for any variables that would correlate to that but I couldn't identify them.

Thanks for the help, cheers.

Hmm... I'm pretty sure I know what you're talking about but there shouldn't be anything in there that would limit the 'effective size of the skin.'

Ok, so I just checked right now by creating a long horizontal line from the outer circle. As expected, it extended all the way to the edge of my screen, which probably means that the limited boundaries (resulting in the cut-off) is caused by something you've changed or added in the .ini file.

If you're stuck, you can just send/link me the modified .ini file or pm me and paste the whole thing and I can take a quick look at it.
I'm sure I'd be able to tell what's causing it once I have a look.

Good luck!

Oh, I see. My native screen resolution is 1920 x 1080 so that may be the problem. Thanks for the reply. I think I've managed to begin doing what I intended thanks to your information. I really love the skin, by the way. I'll pm you a screenshot of it to show you what I'm trying to do.

Thanks again.

I love this skin! Is there a way I can add my D: storage to the data under the C: storage data ?

Under Measures at the top, add:

[MeasureDrive1]
Measure=FreeDiskSpace
Drive= D:
InvertMeasure=1

And under [HDD] add:

[MeterHDDPercent1]
Meter=STRING
MeasureName=MeasureDrive1
MeterStyle=StyleLeft
X=414
Y=48
Postfix=%
Text="%1"
Percentual=1
AutoScale=1

[MeterHDDLabel1]
Meter=STRING
MeterStyle=StyleCENTER
X=357
Y=48
Text="Storage [D:]"

Also, change the value of Y= under MeterHDDPercent to 31, or make it the same as the value of Y= under MeterHDDLabel.

Under Variables look for Weathercode and change it to your city's weather code.

To look for your weather code, go to www.weather.com and search for your city. In the address bar, you'll see your city and state. After that, you'll see your weather code. It's 4 letters followed by 4 numbers.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you're still having trouble.

Yeah. Just look for the part where it says "unit=c" under [Variables] and change the "c" to "m" so that it now says "unit=m" and that should do it.

Love it :) Fiddled around with it a bit to make some parts more prominent, out of personal preference.

Here's what I've got it as atm: img827.imageshack.us/img827/52…

The Power meter is now on the right, but as the battery decreases it still goes from left to right. How would I make it go from right to left?
Also I prefer the 24-hour time format. How can I switch it to display like this?
Cheers!

Glad you like it!

1.) Ok so to make the battery meter go from right to left, go down to the power section where you see [PowerMeterBar] and [PowerMeterBarInvert] and change it to this:

[PowerMeterBar]
MeasureName=MeasurePower
Meter=BAR
X=389
Y=287
W=70
H=13
BarOrientation=HORIZONTAL
BarColor=#COLORS#

[PowerMeterBarInvert]
MeasureName=MeasurePowerInvert
Meter=BAR
X=388
Y=287
W=70
H=13
BarOrientation=HORIZONTAL
BarColor=#COLORBACK#
Flip=1

(Basically the value of X for PowerMeterBar will be 1 more than than PowerMeterBarInvert now, instead of the other way around, and Flip=1 will now be under PowerMeterBarInvert, instead of PowerMeterBar.)

2.) For the 24 hour format, just go under [MeasureDateTime] and change Format=%I:%M to Format=%H:%M
And if you're gonna use the 24 hour format, you should also go down to Time&Date and delete the [MeterTime2] section since you won't need to display the am/pm.

That should solve your problem. Let me know if there's any issue.

Worked like a charm! ta very much my friend :)

One unrelated question; which variable controls the boundaries of the 'widget' itself (for want of a better word)?

Nice. Glad to hear.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by boundaries but if it is what I think it is, try changing the BackgroundMode and SolidColor which is at the very top to:

BackgroundMode=2
SolidColor=0,0,0,100

And then when you refresh... Is that what you're talking about?

Basically I had skin that used 4 icons for Sleep, Shutdown, Hibernate and Lock Computer.

I altered it so it had only 2 icons; one that told the computer to shutdown after 2 hours, and another to abort this process.

It may be me just being a little obsessive compulsive, but the skin can still be right-clicked/dragged etc. from where the other two icons used to be. I'd like to know which variables control the borders/margins of the skin itself, so I can shrink it to fit the 2 remaining icons and not take up unnecessary space.

If this makes no sense I apologise =')

I think I know what you're talking about, but this skin doesn't have like one variable that controls the borders/margins of the whole skin.

For example, if you were to add a text or a string on the right side of the RAM percentage meter, then the border/margin would now be wider because you've added something further out to the right. Get it?

To see your current border/margins, change the BackgroundMode and SolidColor as I've mentioned earlier.

BackgroundMode=2
SolidColor=0,0,0,100

You can drag and right click open areas as long as it is within the border/margins when the BackgroundMode is 2.

Can win8 use this skin??  It shows "invalid setting file" on my computer  when I want to install this skin.  My English is not very well. So if yu can understand please teach me how to install this skin. Thank you.  I must say  this skin is so cool.

Hmm.. I've never had any complaints about an "invalid setting file" error message before. And I imagine there's been a good amount of people with windows 8 who've downloaded it so maybe it's not because of your version of windows?
So your problem is that you can't install it, correct? If so, you can download the file here and install it manually. Just extract it and put the folder in your Rainmeter skins directory instead of using the installer. Hope it works. Let me know how it goes.

You see the "More Like This" section on the right side of the page where you see a preview of like 15 other pages? Right under that you'll see a link that says Download File. Click on that.

Very cool, but I'd like to make the whole thing bigger, text and all. Can you tell me what data to change to scale things up a bit?
Reply
:iconesnooze:
esnooze Featured By Owner Jun 16, 2013
Well, it might be a real hassle to make EVERYTHING bigger like the circle and graphs because you'd also have to adjust the positions of all the lines, bars, and graphs. But as far as the texts go, look under [StyleRight], [StyleRightB], [StyleLeft], [StyleLeftB], and [StyleCenter]. Now, under each of those, you will see FontSize=8. Change that to whatever font size you want. For example, FontSize=10.

When you make the fonts bigger, you'll probably need to adjust the positions of the text a bit. To do that, change the X= and Y= under..

[MeterHDDPercent], [MeterHDDLabel],
[MeterTime], [MeterTime2],
[MeterMonth], [MeterDate], [MeterDay],
[MeterTemp], [MeterDesc],
[MeterCPUPercent], [MeterCPULabel],
[MeterRAMPercent], [MeterRAMLabel],
[MeterINLabel], [MeterIn],
[MeterOutLabel], [MeterOut],
[MeterUpTimeLabel], [MeterUpTime],
[MeterPowerLabel], and [MeterPowerPercent]

The X= value changes the position left and right.
So if X=414 for one of the parts and you want to move it a little bit to the left, change the value of X to X=410 or X=406 or something lower than the original value. To see the changes, save the text file and refresh the eTech skin and you'll see the change. If you want to move it to the right, change the value of X to a higher value.

The Y= value changes the position up and down.
If Y=39 and you want to move that part a little higher, change the value of Y to something lower like Y=35 or something, save the text file, and refresh the eTech skin to see the change. If you want to move it downward, change the value of Y to a higher value.

Hope this helps.

Which round part? Because the outer circle measures your hard drive and the inner round part is the clock.

Music player integration is a good idea but I think it would make it a little confusing even if I found a place to put it.

I don't know why it's not working for you because I just put INXX0202 for the weather code and it worked for me.

The weather code section under [Variables] should look like this.
Weathercode=INXX0202
That's all you change.. the INXX0202 part. You shouldn't change anything else.

I don't know where that is but it must be really hot lol.

Hope it works.
